Funny fact: sickly mom

Ever since I’ve gone back to work, I haven’t really quite got the time to sit down to pen down my daily thoughts. All I was looking forward to after work is to spend that one hr time with her before she goes to bed. Good that she is being on schedule but the bad thing is, if I have to work a bit later, I wouldn’t get to see her except in the morning for like 10mins. The woes of a working mom.

Weekend loves

It is the weekend again. This is the 2nd weekend since I’ve gone back to work. I must say I don’t hate going back to work because it is kind of a breather away from baby. However, going back to work makes me appreciate and look forward to weekend even more. I, now will plan for more quality time with my baby.

So that’s my weekend loves. Have a good weekend ahead as well! Will post again!

last day as a SAHM

It has been a pretty amazing journey being a stay at home mom especially when I am such a workaholic. I used to think that I would be the kind of mother who can’t wait to get back to work. I had a lot of passion for my job and I truly enjoy working. Now, today, 18 weeks after giving birth to my baby girl, I am feeling a little emotional as my daily routine would be changed and the number of hours to see her would be greatly reduced.

Ergococoon vs Swaddle cloth

As a first time mom, I have heeded everyone’s advice to get swaddle cloth because that helps to soothe the baby, however, after trying out ergococoon, I think for my next kid, I would definitely choose ergococoon.

Swaddle cloth experience – As many of you would have known, I’ve got a really fussy baby. She cries non stop. It is especially daunting for me when it comes to swaddling her because she would kick and kick so much so that I thought that swaddling her is unnecessary because she hates it (taking the cue from her kicks). I haven’t had the ability to calm her to sleep. I was then told by a friend that no matter what they need to be swaddled in order to feel secure. And so, I started the swaddle journey. Note: I stopped swaddling her at 5weeks after confinement lady leaves because I simply thought that she hates to be swaddled because her hands are not freed, like claustrophobic but I was obviously wrong.

I must say I’m very bad at swaddling. My husband swaddle the baby much than me. I find it hard to swaddle nicely for her, so I have literally given up swaddling her leaving it to the husband to do it. He is really smooth with it. We used swaddle cloth and I always make such a mess that my husband would always finish the job for me. Until I had the ergococoon. I’ve had some friends using it as a sleeping bag more than explaining to me that it acts as a convenient swaddle. I had the opportunity to review ergococoon by  mymiraclebaby and I have since been using it for a couple of days. I must say, I am all in for ergococoon now.

Schedule training updates

So… Since the last post I’ve been busy schedule training my baby. It was really tough at the beginning to follow strictly to the book. It was especially tough especially the day routine i.e. The nap times, to keep her awake and not allowing her to fall asleep as and when she wants to. There were several cries that were heartbreaking and made me want to just give up. I’m thankful for having a husband who works from home and has been helping me manage my expectations.

There were some disagreements like how flexible we should be. For example, my husband thinks that we shouldn’t follow strictly to the book because the baby can’t adjust just yet or the baby is too young (I started the training at 6weeks old). I, on the other hand, believe that we just follow by the rules and adjust later if it doesn’t work. It took us Abt 2-3 days to come to terms and I am fortunate that he gave in to my stubborn way to follow strictly first. In my opinion, if I don’t follow strictly, I wouldn’t know what to adjust if I were to start off with flexibility first. So, you can imagine, the baby was extremely irritable and unhappy due to strict sleeping and drinking time.

Repeated routine

Routines for babies are great because things are more predictable. I’ve been reading Gina ford’s contented little baby, and she is a believer of routine and schedules so that life as a parent would be easier. However, when the routine is not a good routine, it actually worries me more.

My baby is kind of having same routine of fussing at the same timing, fussing even though she is being fed. Confinement period is ending soon and the confinement lady would soon be returning home. I am indeed getting a little anxious about how I am going to handle this fussy baby. I am sure I can get through this but it can get frustrating when she isn’t calmed.
